Roles & Responsibilities:
Read drawings and plans to accurately assemble the heavy steelwork following plans drawn up by engineers
Lifting and guiding components into position with tower cranes
Lining up and levelling steelwork before securing it in place by bolting or welding methods.
On the job thinking and problem solving to correctly assemble the heavy steel beams following engineers’ and contractors guidelines
Lifting and guiding components into position with tower cranes, ensuring accurate positioning of beams before bolting or welding it in place
Applicants must have prior experience of working on large scale industrial / commcercial projects
Working from mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) to gain safe access to sections off the ground and working on the structure itself, at heights beyond the reach of MEWPs
Performing alternations to steel beams and panels where necessary
Organize one or two crews and equipment based on the detailed work plan/schedule together with the Construction Manager.
Ensure that all work is carried in a safe manner, as described in the Work Method Statement and Risk Analysis.
Coordinate all work on site with the Construction Managers and crewmembers based on the detailed Project Plan.
Keep track and record of the daily progress, man hours and equipment by filling in a detailed daily work sheet
Requirements:
Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the assembly and installation complex steel structures
Skills Card
Be fluent in English, in writing and verbally.
You know how to interpret/read complex steel structure drawings.
Be able to motivate people and encourage safe working methods.
